CHAT Announces Christina Hoppe as New President

Following a nationwide search, the Children’s Hospital Association of Texas (CHAT) announced Christina Hoppe as its new President, effective August 1, 2025, following the retirement of current CHAT President Stacy Wilson. Hoppe has been with CHAT since 2017, initially joining as Senior Policy Coordinator, and currently serves as the association’s Vice President.

Since 1989, CHAT has worked to advance children’s health and well-being by advocating for policies that promote children’s access to high-quality, comprehensive health care. Hoppe has helped CHAT secure important resources for children’s hospitals, land key children’s health funding, and boost the pediatric workforce.

“Christina has been an integral part of the CHAT team for nearly a decade. Her work has had a real impact on children across Texas, and we are confident in her leadership and her ability to step seamlessly into this role,” said Eric Hamon, CHAT board chairman. “I also want to share my sincere gratitude to our outgoing president, Stacy Wilson, who has led critical policy advancements for children’s hospitals and laid a strong foundation for Christina to build upon.”

Prior to joining CHAT, Hoppe worked for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission leading teams responsible for Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) eligibility policy.  She has extensive experience analyzing state and federal policies, rules, and legislation.

“Children’s hospitals are a cornerstone of communities across Texas, and it’s an honor to lead advocacy on behalf of our members and the young Texans and families who rely on them,” said Hoppe. “I’d like to thank the Board of Directors for recognizing my commitment to and passion for this industry and every child we serve. I’m looking forward to continuing our work together and expanding upon CHAT’s extraordinary legacy.”

Hoppe received her master’s degree from the University of Texas School of Public Health in 2012 and her bachelor’s degree in community health education from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse in 2010.
