The Children’s Hospital Association of Texas announced Christina Hoppe is the group’s new President following the retirement of President Stacy Wilson. Hoppe has been with CHAT since 2017, initially joining as Senior Policy Coordinator and making her way up to Vice President.

As the federal budget winds its way through the halls of Congress, Texas children’s hospitals are bracing for potentially devastating effects on their finances and their ability to serve patients, said Stacy Wilson, the president of Children’s Hospital Association of Texas, a nonprofit representing the interest of the hospitals.

The Republican-led Congress continues to debate the first draft of major tax and budget cuts. Right now, it attempts to cut nearly $5 trillion in taxes over the coming years, paid for, in part, by the government healthcare program Medicaid. That has some hospital leaders in Texas on edge.
